Day of Caring
2010
On Friday, May 14 and Saturday, May 15 the Schuylkill United Way hosted the 2nd Annual Day of Caring. Over 150 volunteers came together to complete 20 community service projects for nine of the 15 Schuylkill United Way partner agencies.
A very special thank you to Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., Evan's Delivery, Kevin Schlear, Lowe's RDC 961, McCann School of Business & Technology, Pepsi Beverage Company, PPL Electric Utilities, Schuylkill County Crippled Children Society, Team Orwigsburg, Wal-Mart DC #7030, and Wegmans Retail Service Center for volunteering to make the event possible.
Agencies fortunate to receive help include American Red Cross, Avenues, Boy Scouts of America/Hawk Mountain Council, Child Development, Inc., Pottsville Salvation Army, Tamaqua Salvation Army, Schuylkill Women in Crisis, and Schuylkill YMCA.
At the Schuylkill United Way, we are dedicated to providing funding, guidance, and encouragement to our 15 partner agencies and what better way to encourage them than to come along side of them and reach out a helping hand?
Day of Caring volunteers prove the 2011 Campaign theme,
