Each year, the Schuylkill United Way hosts a Pacesetter Reception for members throughout Schuylkill County who contribute a minimum of $500 toward the Annual Schuylkill United Way Campaign.
Levels of giving range from Copper through Platinum depending on contribution amount.
Levels of Giving:
Copper - $500 - $749
Bronze - $750 - $999
Silver - $1,000 - $1,499
Gold - $1,500 - $1,999
Diamond - $2,000 - $2,499
Platinum - $2,500 +
Pacesetters do just that – they set the pace and lay the ground work for a successful campaign. Pacesetters traditionally begin their portion by contributing to the campaign three months prior to the actual beginning of the annual campaign which runs September through November.
Once again, the Pacesetters are hard at work determined to do their part in helping to raise the 2010 H.O.P.E. Campaign total goal of $1 million in hopes of having yet another rewarding year. The Schuylkill United Way theme, H.O.P.E. is what the Pacesetters do each year - they "Help Other People Everyday" through their generous contributions that help support countless programs and services that are offered to Schuylkill County residents for little to no charge.
Prior to the start of campaign, the John E. Morgan Foundation offered the Pacesetters a $25,000 Matching Grant. All new Pacesetters who join will have their donation matched 100 percent while returning Pacesetters who increased their giving over last year’s amount also have the increase matched.
To date, $47,431 NEW dollars have been added to this year’s campaign through the Matching Grant. Currently, a total of 218 Pacesetters have come together to raise $206,673 towards the overall campaign goal of $1 million.
This year’s Pacesetter Club Chairmen, Joseph H. Jones, Jr. and Robert E. Weaver, are confident that they will reach and exceed last year’s numbers of 336 Pacesetters for a total of $290,250 raised towards the 2009 Campaign.
As a special thank you to each of the Pacesetters who graciously give each year and support the community in more ways than one, the Schuylkill United Way hosts a Reception for all members, new and old.
This year’s event, held at Wegmans Retail Service Center in the Highridge Business Park, Pottsville was Co-Sponsored by Wegmans and PPL Corporation. The event set a new record with 160 guests who came out to tour the facility, experience the wonderful food compliments of Chef Ray, see old friends, make some new ones, and enjoy the company of truly giving individuals.
Overall, it was a wonderful evening had by all and a great opportunity to come together and rally in support for the Schuylkill United Way and the 15 partner agencies that are supported.
