Executive Director

Kelly began her career with the SUW in 1992 as the Secretary-Bookkeeper and assumed the position of Director of Community Relations in 2000. Following the retirement of longtime Executive Director, Mr. Clare J. Houser Jr., the Board of Directors appointed Kelly to the position of Executive Director in 2004. Over the past 20 years, Kelly has overseen the expansion and growth of the Schuylkill United Way to the organization that it is today.

Kelly resides in Orwigsburg with her husband, Michael. She is the mother of two daughters, Erin and Katie, and has two granddaughters, Emma and Cassidy.

Mike Joyce

Director of Community Engagement

Mike is from West Chester, Pennsylvania, and a graduate of Shippensburg University. He began his career in the newspaper industry in suburban Philadelphia before coming to Schuylkill County in 1998 to become Advertising Director at the Republican Herald. In 2019 he became Publisher of the newspaper, where he remained until it was sold in September, 2023.

Mike joined the SUW Board of Directors in 2019 and later served as the 2023 Campaign Chair. Now as Director of Community Engagement, Mike said he is most excited about the opportunity to join an organization that makes such a huge, positive impact on Schuylkill County. Staying in Schuylkill County was very important to him and his family.

Becky Woods

Director of Marketing & Programs

Becky is proud to have been born and raised in Pottsville. After graduating from Nativity B.V.M. High School, she earned her B.A. in Communications from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. She went on to complete two years of service with AmeriCorp in Eastern Kentucky and over the years has lived and worked in Virginia, Kentucky, and Indiana.

Returning home and starting her career with Schuylkill United Way in January 2022, Becky brings over 15 years of experience with non-profit leadership, community development, and marketing. She also completed her M.A. in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University in May 2022. Her passion for service drew her to the dynamic mission and team of the Schuylkill United Way. Becky resides in Pottsville with her husband and son.
